Ian was indentured as a student apprentice with Young Austen & Young in 1974 progressing to Senior Design & Contracts Engineer with responsibility for various project designs & contract management.
He has a 1st Class Honours Degree in Building Services Engineering and is a Chartered Engineer and
Member of the Chartered
Institution of Building
Services Engineers. (CIBSE)
Between 1982 and 1988 Ian worked for two leading commissioning companies with responsibilities ranging from balancing of HVAC systems to commissioning management of major construction projects.
In 1989
Ian
founded Venables Associates with his father,
Keith
Venables
. In addition he continues to design and manage projects in various sectors of the industry and has overall responsibility for the work carried out by the Company.
Michael
was indentured as a student apprentice with Haden Young in 1979. He is a Chartered Engineer and Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.
Michael began his first 2 years engineering training within the Design and Construction Department where he obtained the TEC Diploma in Building Engineering Services, following which he transferred within the same organisation to a sponsored undergraduate status to complete a 4 year Honours Degree course in Environmental Engineering resulting in a 1st Class award. The four years subsequent to graduation were spent as a Design Project Manager responsible for multi- disciplined, technically advanced projects.
Since the formation of Venables Associates, Michael has operated as one of the principals of the company responsible for the preparation of project briefs, concept design, full design duties, tender and contract documentation, management of projects, specialist commissioning, surveys, investigations, litigation investigation and general professional advice.
In addition to the normal commercial operations Michael is responsible for ensuring the company is aware of the latest developments in engineering design.
Project experience includes new build and refurbishment of pharmaceutical, production, industrial, housing, educational, computer centres, commercial, marine, automotive, ministry of defence (air and sea) and historic buildings to the 12th century.
MARK SAMPSON MECHANICAL ENGINEER ASSOCIATE
Mark
is a Chartered Engineer with a BEng (Hons) in Energy Engineering and is a Member of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.
Mark began his training in 1995 with a medium sized local maintenance contractor and studied part-time at Southbank
University where he obtained a HND in Building Services Engineering, following on to complete his Honours Degree course.
During his time within the maintenance arena Mark was involved with all aspects of the HVAC industry, including work on the steam distribution at Shell Haven oil refinery, bio-gas generation within sewage works, fault finding of large complex system and progressed to lead a team of 10 maintenance technicians and engineers.
In 1999 Mark founded a small consultancy practice specialising in mechanical building services design and continued to develop his own knowledge of the industry, joining Venables Associates in 2006.
Project experience includes new build and refurbishment of education facilities, schools and museums, residential developments, community heating schemes and large scale housing projects.
He has 15 years of professional experience within electrical engineering design, commissioning, testingand installation management. His design experience includes:
