This 5,500 m2 new build offices and laboratory facility includes chemistry, tissue culture, analytical and NMR laboratories. The building has a total of 78 variable flow fume cupboards, 10 MBSC and 40 ventilated enclosures. 

The building has been designed with separate plant, equipment and monitoring to allow sub-division of the building into four separate facilities. Central laboratory gases are provided for liquid nitrogen, carbon dioxide, vacuum, and compressed air. 

Bottled gases for argon, carbon dioxide, helium and spare. VRF heat pump heat recovery to offices areas. Laboratory gases, vacuum, and compressed air systems. Fully integrated BMS controls system. LED lighting and advanced controls. This project meets BREEAM ’Very Good’ rating.

Building 2 118,000 sqft of office space.

Both buildings are adaptable for single or multi-tenant occupancy.

The two buildings are joined by a central colonnade of cladded feature columns with bespoke lighting. 

The project also involved the construction of a 4 storey, 7 level, 540 space multi-storey car park.

Portway Building Granta Park

Reconfiguration and refurbishment of 93,900 sq. ft building to provide high-quality office space, atriums, and fully fitted laboratory accommodation, split across two floors. 

Major alterations including the addition of a mezzanine floor, and upgraded lifts, toilet cores and reception areas. 

Research space designed with multiple tenants in mind and has a flexible floorplate to allow for various zoning configurations. 

Installation of a standby generator, and photovoltaic panels to contribute to the targeted BREEAM ‘Excellent’ rating. 

Also benefits from a high-tech IT installation, including a CCTV system, video intercom, and access control system, scheme achieved ‘Gold’ WiredScore.

The exterior is a façade cladding of glass with metallic panels and fins for solar shading. 

Also has curtain walling details and chamfered bays to create a feature at the corners.
